Data Sources
Touchdown records are collected from a play-by-play feed, normalized into a single touchdown record per scoring play, and stored with the original source identifier so a play is never counted twice.
Live scoring
During games, data refreshes frequently and touchdowns can appear a short time after they happen. Outside game windows the refresh rate is reduced. The last successful update is always shown on the daily view — currently 7:31 PM ET.
Corrections
Statistics may be revised after official scoring corrections. A play can be overturned, reattributed to a different player, or reclassified — for example from a rush to a reception. When that happens the touchdown record is updated in place rather than duplicated, so historical pages reflect the corrected result.
Data gaps
If the feed is unavailable, the last known data stays visible with its timestamp. Stale data is never presented as live, and touchdowns are never estimated or invented.
